Wetting the road to make winter driving easier might seem counter-intuitive, but it's actually the number one weapon in our arsenal of pre-snow clearing operations. By pre-wetting road salt prior to application, the melting process is kick-started due to a chemical reaction that releases heat, which in turn helps fight snow build-up.

Pre-wetting road salt also has the added benefit of preventing salt from being dispersed by traffic. This both helps the environment by preventing salt from entering the natural eco-system, and also means that less salt has to be expended to ensure coverage.

How Pre Wetting Road Salt Works

At A&G, our commercial snow removal services have special trucks that mix the salt and liquid wetting brine together prior to application, with the driver able to manually operate the salt spreader to ensure the best road coverage possible.
